I would say yes. some people just want to complete the sets without spending a lot of money. They obviously would not be for resale but for the enjoyment of collecting and completing the sets.

If those dollar bills in the photo were old and wrinkled and torn, they'd still be desirable - so too with the cards.

The Stan Lopata is the 1958 Hires Test card, which is very rare. In in that well loved condition, it is probably a $40+ card.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

These type of low grade vintage cards are on ebay all the time...and somesody usually buys them...whatever ya enjoy collecting is cool in my viewpoint, low grade or high grade.
  • I you are selling, I need the 55 topps nelson king for my low grade set and probably several more hidden in the pic.

You better believe it!!!!! My 53 Topss set which I sold was in the same condition and I did well with it.Look at my 53 Bowman on the registry it only grades out at a 3.27 and thats where its going to stay.

The Red Sox would fit in nice with the rest of my beaters - are they available?

Absolutely. While not all of my Cardinals team sets look that way, there are several that do. Since I am all about completion and not condition, why would I want to spend $700 plus for a 1948 Bowman Musial, when I can get a low grade one for about $50 (which is what I did). Now, if I buy a huge collection for resale, and I see Cardinals cards that are in better condition than the ones I have, I usually upgrade my team sets at that time.

  • Yes, they do.

You could probably sell them on here, and save yourself ebay fees.
