World coinage is a bit foreign to me these days and I'm wondering if y'all can help me

I'm wondering if all the coins below are Silver

Beyond the ping test I've placed each on my tongue and some do taste a bit different

I can't make out the coin with the hole in the middle, but I think all the others are silver to some degree.

The coin with the hole in it is from Egypt. It is a 5 milliemes piece. It is copper-nickel. I agree, I think all the rest of them are silver. By the way I have never heard of the taste test for silver. What is silver suppose to taste like as upposed to nickel?

This is the tough thing about Darkside silver......each piece has to be looked up separately. Take the 1958 South African 5 shilling coin, it's 50% silver, to the right, the 1949 is 80%. It almost always trades at a discount if it's mixed because it takes some work figuring out much silver there is......

2 1/2 Gulden NEDERLAND Queen Juliana 1962 = 15 Grammes 720/1000 silver = 10.8 Grammes pure silver

1 Gulden NEDERLAND Queen Juliana 1957-1965 = 6,5 Grammes 720/1000 silver=4.7 grammes pure silver

total 4 coins = 1 troy ounce of pure silver

I have a similar, but larger, collection of silver coins which I acquired in the 1960's.

If I wanted to sell them on Ebay, I would probably group them by country and sell them that way.

I would list the crowns (silver-dollar sized coins) separately.

I wouldn't lick them, who knows where they have been.

The holed Egyptian is CuNi as well as the Nicaraguan 10 Centavos 2nd to the right of the holed Egyptian, and the Egyptian 5 Milliemes immediately above the Nicaraguan 10.

If you are going to place them in lots on eBay, I would put the Chinese(top left) in a lot by itself.

There's another Egyptian in addition to the one with the hole- it's in Row 3, Coin #4. I'm not so sure that one's silver, either. Besides those two, I think they've all got some silver content (in varying degrees, of course). Edit: aha- I see the other Holey guy beat me to it. I overlooked the Nicaraguan piece. So yeah- all but three are silver.

Not a bad-lookin' lot.

PS- H&C might have a good point about the Chinese piece.

The coin is date 2012 or 1955. How big is it? Looks like 25 Paisa, 19mm.

All these coins have been in a paper bag since the 1950's.

It's about 19mm.

Not sure about the washer but most of the rest are in varying fineness. The British coins dated before 1920 are Sterling(.925 fine) I believe -Bob
