This appears to have been a pendant at one time, Has anyone seen this before or have any information?

It is a Japanese medal commemorating the formal enthronement of the Showa Emperor in November 1928.

What did you find out on this medal? Looks like silver?
And is that central ornament (the imperial chrysanthemum) gold-washed?

It is a medal originally it had a ribbon also.. I did a search and found one auctioned complete with the box as issued for 75 Pounds.
I don't know how to put a link in these but I searched
Showa Enthronement Medal 1928 and got several links with photos in as issued condition

I'm not too crazy about the obverse but the reverse is beautiful.
