uuuuuuhhhhh...That's $160 SMR for a MINT 9, SMR is $45 for NM-MT 8 and VCP is lower as I have sold two 8's over the last couple of months for $30-$35..
Neil
Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!
That's surprising - seems not long ago at all that I saw Flores 8's go for over $300 when they showed on ebay . Been a couple years but I paid $200 for this one. I can't take that kind of $$ loss so I guess I'll be holding this awhile - thanks for the info.
Neil, I think you have the wrong card, unless you sold yours off line. It looks like you cost yourself some major money there if you sold them for $30-35. If you get another '64 Flores PSA 8 in stock, I'm a buyer at $40!
Yes I guess I did cost myself some serious coin, but my Statement whether it is right or wrong still stands, SMR in that Card in NM-MT 8 is still $45. And I did sell two of them in the last 6 months for less than $40 off E-Bay so that's why they don't figure into VCP.
I don't understand why that card would sell for so much when his 61 RC card has been selling for, from me at least, a 7.5 for $40 and an 8 for $43.50 ( I was wrong in the other post, was thinking of another card), and I had to put those on sale to even move them, they sat in my store for over a year..
Win some and lose some, but I only paid $20 each so didn't really lose, just didn't realize the potential apperently!!

Neil, The reason the '64 Flores sells for more than his '61 Topps RC is because the '61 card is pretty easy to find in PSA 8. There's hundreds of them graded PSA 8. The '64 on the other hand is much more difficult to find in PSA 8 shape and is an SP in the set. I would say you were fortunate to have two PSA 8's of that card. It sounds like you made a profit on them too, that's good.
But if you're pricing or making sales based on the SMR price guide, you are costing yourself some major cash on certain cards. The SMR is like a Beckett guide. It's an informative price guide with outdated sales info. Example, for years SMR had a '66 Phily Bob Brown PSA 8 listed at $30. It routinely sold for well over $400. The price on that card has dropped in recent years but it still sells well above SMR which is now $40, lol. That's just one example. I could give you hundreds more in vintage Football cards.

You sure your not thinking of his 61 RC card? I just sold one of those in NM-MT 8 for $135.00.

I won't be relisting on ebay for a couple weeks so if anybody is interested - looks like the initial thought of $160 delivered is pretty fair.
Thanks again,
