Bryce vs Bryce

OK, so we all know the attention Bryce Harper is getting. I mean his signed Bowman RCs are going for thousands on ebay, he's in the national media spotlight, etc. And this kid plays Class A ball in the South Atlantic League. Well so does Bryce Massanari, who plays for the Asheville Tourists (my local team). And what I find especially funny, is MY Bryce is out hitting Bryce Harper.
Take a look: STATS
While very close, Massanari has 7 fewer plate appearances and 1 more hit than Harper. Harper has two more homers and definitely more steals (Massanari is a catcher and is built like one- not for speed) although he has the same number of doubles as Harper and neither has a triple. Massanari has fewer strikeouts than Harper and is batting .359 to Harper's .342.
So why has no one ever heard of Bryce Massanari???

nam812 - I noticed that too. Although the "other" Bryce hasn't had as many AB as the other two. But his OPS is higher than Harper and he still has quite a few HRs.
Harper is just a kid and 7 years makes a big difference especially if they get to the majors.
My Bryce is better than yours... Lol

No, but I bet he could grow a better mustache!!!
All kidding aside, this thread is not a jab at Harper. I just think it's funny how stats can be overlooked when popularity comes into play.

Congrats to your son though. Not many people can stack up with Harper as of right now.
I was at the Tourists game today and talked to Bryce Massanari afterwards. I mentioned that his stats were better than Harpers. His reply? "Aw, I'm old enough to be his dad..."
Obviously, he is well aware of what the rest of you have pointed out!
That's funny.
