Grey Flannel Collectibles question

I've had a game used Marquette basketball jersey of William Gates (starred in the documentary Hoop Dreams) in my collection since 1999. I obtained it in a Grey Flannel Collectibles auction, and it comes with their own letter of authenticity, which for a great while, was the standard in the industry, particularly in basketball, since they were/are the authenticators for the Basketball Hall of Fame. Judging by the footnote on the letter, it would appear that Grey Flannel was the owner of the jersey and it was not a consignment piece. I had no doubt to question its authenticity at the time, because I felt Grey Flannel would have done a good job researching and documenting this jersey as being correct in every single way.
Well, thanks to the internet, I just happened to be looking at different images on Google over the weekend and to my surprise, I can't find any proof of him wearing #12, the number on my jersey. I can only find evidence of him wearing #22. Now, maybe my search hasn't been exhaustive enough, but I'm not getting a good feeling about this. I only spent around $600 on this jersey, but it felt like I got kicked in the nuts upon finding out I may not have the real deal.
My question to the boards is do I have a legitimate claim to get a refund for this item, even though i purchased it almost 12 years ago? I know many auction houses have an "All Sales Final" policy, but I would think it is not good business to have an item of questionable authenticity in the marketplace with your company's LOA, especially in the hands of a somewhat prominent dealer (trying to keep my ego in check, so I added "somewhat" when describing myself.) I welcome your thoughts on this issue, and thanks in advance for your help.
