Unknown Coin, China? Japan?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this is?

I have been told it may be a trade coin? It's large and I've pictured it besides a George V penny to illustrate it's size.

It's not a coin, and certainly not old - the "interrupted sinusiodal projection" for depicting the map of the world, as featured at the top of the reverse, was not invented until 1927 and would not have been familiar in China until after WWII. But the "seal script" depicted on the obverse went out of fashion after the Ming Dynasty was founded in 1368.

It's a medal for the "Hong Kong World Trade Center."
