Requesting a book recommendation (Spanish Reales)

I usually read/post on the US coin forums but have taken an interest in Spanish Reales. I was hoping someone with experience in these types of coins could point me towards a quality guide to grading and any other good references books. I purchased the coin below at a local show Friday...not high grade, but I sure do like it!

This website covers the older design, the "Pillar" 8 Reales. The website was last updated over 10 years ago, but I guess the basic info hasn't changed much.

BTW your 2nd photo is upside-down

Check out Gilboy's book on Columnarios. Also, for 8 Reales, make sure to pick-up Calbeto's Compendium 8 Reales.

I'm diving in Cuba for 2 weeks - internet is pretty bad, so not sure if this will even get posted. I'll write more once I'm home around the 17th of May.

Check out Gilboy's book on Columnarios. Also, for 8 Reales, make sure to pick-up Calbeto's Compendium 8 Reales.

These two books are expensive, and probably not a good investment for a beginner. Better to simply pick up the Krause catalogs to figure out what exists and what you would want to collect.
