VCP

So whats the story whith them?
Ive been a member for the last year and I was just wondering whats the story now.
Just asking bc I have been buying and what not and checking the VCP prices. I have been seeing that the prices have not been tracked at all months later( on certain items I bought or sold). What is the delay once sold on ebay and auction houses after sold? I have seen several not tracked and Im thinking about canceling my membership bc of the matter. I feel they no longer have a value to me at this pace.
Thoughts?

  • I have noticed the same thing, but I joined recently, and I must say it has saved me quite a bit of money.

I've also noticed the same thing. Lots of recent transactions on key cards not showing up in their database. I just received a new Visa recently with a revised expiry date. They were extremely quick to send out a notice that my subscription was cancelled when my old Visa didn't process because of the lapsed expiry date. Seems like their priorities are in order.

handyman, i find it to be useful as a guide but not gospel, and your observations are correct about pricing information not appearing after eBay or other auctions close. it has become a system of randomness.

i suggest instinct. it works for lions.

I just recently ( last few weeks) sold a batch of cards and randomly checked them in VCP. Every one of them was listed in there. None of them were high dollar or "key" cards, but they were in there.

  • Already on it..problem is eBay is constantly changing things with the API and never give developers the heads up. So right now we are looking for live listings on eBay to see why we are not catching them. We are still grabbing most everything but trying to figure out why a couple are slipping through the system.

    Vintage Card Prices

A website that tracks graded card sales so you can research what a card has been selling for, helps when selling cards to know what to expect in sales and when buying to know a reasonable price range to expect to pay.

Not to be nosey but do you give eBay a cut of your subscription fees? If you are, then they should be obligated to assist you. If not, then they'll probably go out of their way to make it as difficult as possible for you.

Please note that I'm not saying nor implying Bobby only regurgitates final prices on eBay. Data entry, servers, research, etc take time and money.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • Being a developer on eBay is FREE once you are approved. In order to post the images and values from eBay we have to pay a license fee. So basically on the API front since it is free they really don't care to help us or listen to anything we have to say. Basically the same on our side as it is on the other being a buyer and seller.
  • Think solved it and our pulls from eBay are much bigger now so need to get them processed and in our system.
