Which one should I buy?

Just trying to decide which of the following German Empire 1 mark coins to buy for my German type set, the following are a similar price, what are your opinions?

I like the top one because it's bigger.

Actually it just has better eye appeal IMHO.

Buy both (if you can afford them). The top one looks like an overdate (second 8/8).

Well I've been in two minds on them for a while now. Initially liked the top one more, has better eye appeal and can see more detail in the shield (although could be the photos). Was a little concerned about the small brown spots and the bottom one appears smoother. Of course, the bottom one has some crud on the C at 11 o'clock.

I don't think the top one is better , the edge of the top coin was injured.

I like the bottom one & like the toning plus as has been said, no edge damage to rim.

Tough choice, but I would say the top one. It comes down to personal taste - they both have their positives and negatives.

Thank you for your replies. I bit the bullet and bought the top one (the pic may disappear soon because of that), liked the eye appeal more and the rim ding was ok with me, should be very hard to notice when looking at it normal size.
