What I did for the weekend...

To keep it coin related, this 1918 Penny came in from the UK yesterday:

And I finished the new desk for my study, so I can study coins of course. It's cherry, my own design but Craftsman style more or less. It took about 6 weeks to build it working in the evenings and weekends, lots of mortise and tenon joints in this one. I finally got the last coat of finish applied Friday afternoon and brought it in today, I'll get a better pic after I get the study cleaned out so I can get to it.

And since I had so much trouble getting the glued up top perfectly flat my wife saw that Woodcraft had the Jet 16-32 drum sander on sale for 20% off and we went to pick that up instead of buying another coin or two. She's not being nice by the way, she must be angling for a new quilting machine or something.

Now to get in 18 holes of golf tomorrow and it will have been a perfect weekend.

And it's always fun getting another toy for the workshop, even if it's gonna cost more once the wifey gets her half of the bargain

Great looking piece of work; what I call making the most of the weekend..
