Vintage baseball card collection - Thought I would share

I posted a couple of months ago about going through my fathers baseball card collection. It actually took some time to get them all in CS4's, but it is done. Now to sort and take a good look at the conditions so I can sell. Initial review is that the 52's are fair-good, the 53's thru 56's are poor-fair, the 57's are fair-good, the 58's are good-vg, the 59's are good-vg+, the 60's-61's are vg-nm, and the 62's are fair-good. The bulk of the collection is 57-61 and there are approx 2000 different cards. I would like to sell lots for the commons by year and the star cards individually. Any thoughts if this is the best way. All opinions will be appreciated...

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed!!
- I would encourage all collectors to post a video of their collection - I have found it to be a very rewarding way to share my sports cards!!
Great collection, good luck samspop!
Best of luck with the sale. I think your selling strategy is a good one.
Best of luck
ditto - lots of color in those cards.</B>

Bingo!! He was from upstate New York. He told me that when he was a kid, he and his buddies would ride their bikes down to the local store and buy packs for a nickel. They always took clothes pins and would stick the Mantles in their bike spokes for the ride home. He always gets a little queasy when he tells that story.

HAHAHA ... Mike, being from Long Island THE MICK was and still is my #1 ball player. I remember going to the store with my dime and buying TWO packs and searching for THE MICK. If you found him, he stayed with you the entire day. NOT in some holder, but either in your back pocket or in your spokes!

Might not matter all that much with those, but I have found over the years that other than early December, around March is the best time of the year to list baseball cards, with the upcoming baseball season combined with spring, people get in the mood to spend money and think baseball...and especially after this harsh winter.
So I would say take your time, get it all together with the pics and descriptions, and list around mid-March, if you've got the time to wait, to get maximum value on ebay.
Also you may want to check for any high value short prints or high numbers - sometimes they can be worth more than some HOF player cards, but I have a feeling you may have done that already. Good luck.
