What baseball teams are the most popular for collectors?

I mainly sell prewar cards on ebay, and whenever I sell Yankee cards, especially commons, I always note Yankees in the listing since that seems to give the cards a premium. Do other ebay sellers notice this for other teams? I think Cardinals seem very popular also, so I am thinking of adding them also, and perhaps Pirates. I've also noticed Washington Senators collectors out there.

Every team has a following. If you have the room on the listing I would put EVERY team. You never know what someone is looking for.

    Want List:
'61 Topps Roy Campanella in PSA 5-7
    Cardinal T206 cards
    Adam Wainwright GU Jersey
  • New York Yankees
    Boston Red Sox
    Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers
    Chicago Cubs
    Philadelphia Phillies

+1 to cwazzy about adding the team name where possible. I would make more effort to get any members of the five above teams into the search criterion.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

There seems to be a premium for Yankees. I'm putting the 1960 Topps Baseball set together in NM-MT and of about 60 cards I need to complete the set 15 are Yankees. Next most difficult for me are the Dodgers and Pirates as I need 8 of each of those teams.

It generally is the Yanks, Dodgers, Red Sox and whatever team won the WS that year.

In the case of 1960 Topps it's the Bucs.

Phillies cards are by far the most popular and valuable.
  • I regularly search 'reds' so I imagine just about every team does!

Yankees, Twins, Royals, Tigers, and Mets- in that order. These are the five teams that have collectors that are most aggressively assembling graded sets.
