Who is poster Coinman1969 ? Extreme caution advised...

Fellow forum members,

I don't have any idea who he is. But, he is either 1) a legitimate seller, who has offered a couple of coins for sale at suspiciously/unbelievably low prices, and jumped in on other threads, looking to buy or sell a wide variety of coins, or 2) someone who is out to take your money and run. I strongly suspect the latter, but if I am wrong, I will apologize publicly and try to help him in his BST communications and dealings.

He's a humorously inept attempted scammer who doesn't realize where he went, like the clueless armed robber who tries to knock off a police station with a toy gun.

Coinman1969 logged out about 5 minutes after TWOG asked for his e-mail address.

I suspected he may be a scammer as well, at least he displayed all the classic red flags. No previous posts, bad grammar, unbelievably low prices, no photos, no PM function yet every post mentions "Email me", and all posts soliciting to SELL a coin (not one wanting to buy). I feel bad if I'm wrong, but being ex-law enforcement, this would be someone I would be extremely suspicious of. Nobody in their right mind sells a 1909-s VDB PCGS MS66 for $3,250...

  • I was hoping to trip him up via PM by getting enough details to get him banned. That didn't work so well with everyone jumping in on the thread asking him essentially why he was such an idiot. He's gone now.

I didn't see that his PM function was even enabled, while he was signed in - did you, at one time?

The nice part is we could all 'dog pile' without feeling bad about it.
Kinda brings the group together on a common cause.

Unless, as mentioned before, he's for real....then we all 'eat crow'.......but it's still fun!

He's some scumbag scammer from HK.

    Cheers,

  • HK??? I think his email he posted in the sell thread ended with .ru. Wouldn't that make it Russia.
Either way it was obvious what he really was.

  • Why do people do that? I mean, I've seen so many people burning others, for what, a couple of bucks? It's ridiculous but good to know so we can all be aware.
