52 Bowman Mantle vs. 53 Bowman color Mantle

I am looking for opinions from the boards on which Mantle card is better to own. 52 Bowman PSA 6.5 or a 53 Bowman color PSA 7? Anyone have VCP on the two cards? Thanks.

I believe I would rather have, regardless of the difference in value, is the 53 Bowman Color. It is an actual color photo and is such a great card.
The 53 Bowman Colors are just a great great set.

I prefer the 52 Bowman myself.

I am keeping it and recently sold my PSA 5 53.

I like the drawings and the small size.

I love the 52 Bowman Mantle. One of my favorite Mantle poses, and I love the drawing. Not a huge fan of the 53 Bowman color.

Both are great cards but I prefer the 1953 Bowman.

You won't go wrong with either of these classics but I personally think the '53 Bowman is about the nicest looking Mantle there is.

like Dan said, the pose on the '52 is great. I loves me some '53 Color, though - maybe not necessarily the Mantle, but the set as a whole is b-e-a-utiful

51! I think is his best, then 52 Topps...

After that I say '52 Bowman by a mile, the '53 looks like a cheappo TCMA reprint style card IMO!

53 bowmans are beautiful cards.

I never liked cartoonish looking cards so i dont like 52 bowmans or 53 topps.

Hard to pick between such beauties, but that 1953 has always been a personal favorite. Wish I had a nice copy of it myself. Come to think of it, in 1953 both Bowman and Topps put out some darned good looking Mantle cards!

The reason I like the '52 Bowman over the '53 is because of the autograph. I love the pose in the '53 though.

I'm not a Mantle expert, but I was surprised to see the 53 Bowman PSA 7 sell for so much less than the 53 Topps PSA 7. Is the pop on the 53 Bowman PSA 7 higher than the 53 Topps?
