finally landed THE one I wanted

I've been trying to complete my run of regular issue GEORGE BEST cards - Manchester United's greatest idol.

I finally landed this 1968 A&BC (before they were bought by Topps) card. Respectfully, many Brits have not preserved the condition of their cards as much as say baseball. So to find this one in good condition was a huge bonus.

    Great pickups. I've been playing indoor soccer for the past few months in a local league so I'm learning to have a whole new respect for soccer.

    That Best is pretty nice. I'll have to try to find one for my neighbor. He's a Clemente and Best fan. I've given him a Clemente already, but that would be icing on the cake.

    I never saw him on Wide World of Sports. I did see him play in the NASL with both Los Angeles and San Jose. I also got to see him play in a charity match in 1990 at Old Trafford (home of Manchester United).

    I have been lucky to see Wayne Gretzky, Nolan Ryan and several other in person, but he stands alone in his legenday status for me.

    There are a about 100 tibutes on youtube - but this one pretty much sums up his US career and life long problem (much like Mickey Mantle). George Best - story part 4

    The other 4 parts are great ot watch as well ...
