How about the OTHER NY auctions?

There are at least 7 auctions in conjunction with the NYINC, but everyone is talking only about Heritage. Some have not yet completed as of this post.

Did you win anything in any of the others?

Here is my only winning so far. A Greek "pattern" from The New York Sale (Baldwin-Markov-M&M). I put pattern in quotes because I think Ertel was just trying to get business from the Greek government and made the piece as a sample to show their workmanship. They come in several "denominations."

The splotches are toning, not missing silver plating. Its my first time with a coin of this type, so I am not yet familiar with how they come. This one is silver-plated bronze, coin axis.

I was 0 for 4 at the CNG auction......prices seemed strong there.

Ponterio I did not see anything I had to have, so I restrained my coin addiction.image

Sears was mostly ancients....I do not collect those at this time.

There are a few lots I will bid in Stacks.

I had a ton of fun at the Kolbe-Fanning book auction today. Pruebas also won a few killer lots.

Money sure goes a long way at the book sales. At least compared to the coin auctions.

Nice Ertel piece pruebas. I personally don't collect them, but several Greek collectors do.

I'll give you some additional info on them tomorrow, it's way past my bedtime now. image

I got a lot from Ponterio, a slightly overpriced Ionian 1857 lepton in NGC MS64RB. The photo is horrible as per usual with Ponterio, I'll post better pictures, after I cross it.

PS: Speaking of Ionians, I've recently crossed the only 1862 1L PCGS MS65 RD. I have this coin in 65RD, 64RD, 65RB, 65BN, all PCGS and I must have sold a dozen of these over the years in this forum alone, raw or slabbed. I have a soft for the year. image

Thanks, Dimitri. Any info you have would be useful! The only other Greek coin I have in my collection is an essai of Pillet (5 Lepta 1912) in nickel. Beautiful coin!
