Quarterback cards

The QB card is easily the most desirable type of football card (excluding some old timers and Payton). Here is a list of really good, maybe even bordering on great QB's whose cards are basically worthless. Do you think any have a chance at the Hall or maybe see their stock rise in the future?

1) Boomer Esiason
2) Vinny Testaverde
3) Bernie Kosar
4) Dave Kreig
5) Drew Bledsoe
6) Danny White
7) Joe Theisman

There are probably a few more people can name, but these popped out at me and their cards can be had for chump change. Any thoughts?

maybe Danny White because he was a Cowboy and Theisman, but put your money in proven HOF QB's. You could buy several different nice HOF QB rookie cards with the money from all of those guys combined.

If you want to invest in undervalued football stars, look at defensive players. The Football HOF is making a concentrated effort to get more defensive players in since there is a huge offense bias right now. There are 160 offensive players in the HOF and only 69 defensive players. Considering that defense is half the game and the ever popular "defense wins championships" mantra, there should be more defensive guys in. I would focus on 1980's and 1990's defensive stars since they are most likely to be remembered by ESPN and get in.

i wonder if the set their RC is in also will have something to do with future value. '86 Topps will always be in demand because of Rice and the horrible centering.

i'm an eagle fan and Randall cunningham cards are pretty much worthless.. when i was a kid his rookie was worth about 15 bucks.. now you can one on ebay for less than 5 bucks. growing up in the late 80s 90s i'd like to have those qbs rookies in my collection but don't think there is much upside. The only cards that hold or increase in value are HOFers with superbowl rings or a major record. HOFers like warren moon who don't really have records or superbowl rings will only decrease in value. Even guys like dan marino or dan fouts cards keep going down. The spread between elway and marino rookies used to favor marino.. but ever since elway got a ring the spread narrowed and eventually favored elway.. and will continue to widen.
Scans of most of my Misc rookies can be found <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://forums.collectors.com/m...y&keyword1=Non%20major">here
