always fun man. where are you getting most of these? are they all on eBay? Do you work within a price range that you have for each pack? I mean you're essentially setting the market for many of them since you're the buyer for a seemingly large majority of them. Does Steve Hart just call you when he sees one? HA!

Indeed, most of these have come from ebay, I have been searching virtually everyday since 1999. However, quite a bit of the '83-'85 packs definitely were acquired by me as a young teenager in Toys R Us. Some of these '85 Donruss Clemens packs I bought for $100 (5 years ago) and now I usually buy every one I see from $25 - $35, I'm averaging down I guess. I do usually scoop up ALL the cheap ($5-10) rookie packs like Griffey, Randy Johnson, Glavine, Bonds, etc. and a lot of the affordable rookie and 2nd year packs like Elway, Marino, Jerry Rice, Montana, Ripken, Gwynn, Boggs, etc..
Being that I mostly collect the overproduced 80's, PACKS is the only way I see value. If this industry is all about supply and demand, I'm hoping 5-10-20 years down the line, UNOPENED PACKS was the way to go. And some of my true 1 of 1's, i will be able to name my own price at some point....
I have bought from Steve Hart (BBCE) many, many times - I just can't get up enough strength to sell any of my packs.
I might not have a healthy 401K, but I do have my unopened packs...
First time watcher of the muggiest of them all doing his thing. I was impressed with the entertainment of the video and the packs shown. You have a pretty sweet collection of unopened packs! You've probably already answered this before, but do you have a favorite pack?
Muggyman, I showed your video to my cat and filmed his reaction. He just can't believe all of the great packs that you have! He especially liked the rack with two Puckett rookies showing.
My favorite packs(s) I own have all been recently acquired... - 1981 Topps FB cello Montana RC front and back (PSA 7) - 1984 Topps FB cello Marino RC front / Elway RC back (PSA 9) - 1985 Topps FB cello Marino 2nd yr front / Elway 2nd yr back (PSA 8) - 1985 Topps cello McGwire RC top and bottom (PSA 8) - 1985 Topps cello Clemens RC top and bottom (PSA 8) - 1975 Topps cello w/ Hank Aaron (AUTOGRAPHED) on top (PSA 9)
Great video - you have more Clemens packs than he had wins in 1984 and 1985 combined.
I loved the video until I saw you outside in short sleeves. I am in Maine and stayed home from work because there is so much snow and it is so freaking cold. Crazy! Crazy I say.
Another fantastic video, almost rivals you getting to on to your wife for filming the cat during your Christmas rip! Love that 81 with Yaz, Raines, & Valenzuela. I'd have been in heaven back in 1985 if I could have walked into the local store and found rack packs loaded with McGwire and Clemens cards like that....I can remember looking at the front and back of every pack hoping to get that lucky! Thanks for the Monday afternoon entertainment.
Actually, back in '84 and 85, I was only looking for Strawberry, Gooden, Mattingly, Pete Rose, and Nolan Ryan. Maybe the Cory Snyder USA card, definitely not McGwire back then.
<< <i>Seriously, can anyone suggest the best way to store unopened rack packs? Thanks! >>
I have THE BEST way. I'll take the LIRR into Manhattan tomorrow ... have all your packs ready to go ... I'll bring them back to St. James with me (For you other guys ... I live on Long Island ... about a 1 hour train ride to DA MUGGSTER) and keep them VERY safe for ya. FUGGHEDABOUDIT!
STAY HEALTHY!

I just experimented with the Food Saver, I didn't have anything sturdy enough for the backing, but I would think if you could get some heavy duty cardboard or sturdy plastic you could vacuum seal them.

WOW!!! That is the sickest collection of 85 racks I have ever seen. You have to have passion and self control for this stuff. If it was me all those would have been ripped by now. Thanks again for sharing. BTW my daughter loved your cat.
