SMR: Sports Market Report

I vote to ditch the price guide and fill it up with articles on the registry sets etc. Does anyone get the magazine outside of CU members who already have the account access to the price guide/set registry ?

  • I used to get it when my local newstand carried it about 6 years ago.I would like to see an expanded version once a year kind of like the Standard Catalog.

Like everyone else, I find SMR prices somewhat irrelevant. It is truly only a "guide." While most prices in SMR are too high, I recently tried to buy a 1951 Bowman Mays rookie in PSA 5, which the guide said was priced at $915. Most that I bid on went for well over $1,000, with several going for over $1,300. I eventually bought a PSA 4 for $735.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
