Isn't Macau part of China again?
<< <i>Yeah, some serious whining about the first vendor with the goods taking some of the flipping profits off the top. >>
Yeah theres alot of complaining over there about that. I don't understand the big hoop-la?? If vendors are price gouging the solution is easy, DON'T BUY THEM! Every other country in the world has had big coins for years, especially Australia. Not only that, they are much more attractive looking. Chinese Panda 5 ounce silver coins are MUCH more attractive and cooler than these IMO. I'd only want these to flip'em and make a quick buck. Not to mention the face value is a complete joke. The only good thing to come out of this is PCGS might start holdering really big coins which has me really excited.

Macau reunited with China on December 20, 1999.

Prettier.....1 kilo and mintage of 1500:
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
I should consider getting one of them for the cars on coins collection I keep talking about starting (but getting no farther than talking) but the design on that Macau piece....is quite amaturish.
For a time, in fact, during THAT time, Matchbox was making diecast cars in Macau. (1/64 diecast is my main hobby)
<< <i>Wow, that driver's eyes must have been severly damaged by not wearing his visor at 200 MPH.

Of course I should probably mention those three days were spent from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed
This is actually my 25th year of collecting, and I also have my brother's collection so I have some from before I was born that have been in my family since new
Thanks!

Being from the UK NASCAR isn't well known over here but a few years back when I was in the Navy and we had some shore leave me and a couple of friends hired a car and drove from Cocoa beach to Daytona to stay for a few days. While at Daytona we decided to go to the NASCAR track and were surprised to hear cars racing as there we had just missed the 500 race by a week.
We found out the cars racing round were part of the Richard Petty Driving Experience. need less to say we paid and got a go. 3 laps round in a NASCAR, a day I'll never forget.
Car stuff is actually my #1 hobby, coins/currency is #2 at best...it varies depending on how I am feeling at that time really!
Since not all of these are 5 ounces, how about on a percentage basis?
<< <i>The real question, however, is whether the premium over bullion on all these was less than the America The Beautiful 5 ounce "quarters".

The mintage on the Macao is 2000.

Yeah, but the number of collectors is 20. Hence there is little demand, hence it's collected as bullion. Same with Isle of Man, Gibraltar, and all the other Pobjoy Mint stuff (as well as Marshall Islands, Cook Islands, and other Franklin Mint stuff).
