    That is one cool piece.
I see it came in a .2354 AGW gold proof as well.

Yeah, some serious whining about the first vendor with the goods taking some of the flipping profits off the top.

Isn't Macau part of China again?

Yeah theres alot of complaining over there about that. I don't understand the big hoop-la?? If vendors are price gouging the solution is easy, DON'T BUY THEM! Every other country in the world has had big coins for years, especially Australia. Not only that, they are much more attractive looking. Chinese Panda 5 ounce silver coins are MUCH more attractive and cooler than these IMO. I'd only want these to flip'em and make a quick buck. Not to mention the face value is a complete joke. The only good thing to come out of this is PCGS might start holdering really big coins which has me really excited.

Wow, that driver's eyes must have been severly damaged by not wearing his visor at 200 MPH.

I should consider getting one of them for the cars on coins collection I keep talking about starting (but getting no farther than talking) but the design on that Macau piece....is quite amaturish.

For a time, in fact, during THAT time, Matchbox was making diecast cars in Macau. (1/64 diecast is my main hobby)

Billy, I'm blown away by your diecast collection!!! image And your extensive photo library of them. Now I know where I'm going to be engrossed for a few days!! I have been collecting off and on since the early 80s and still have about 50-100 cars from back then (of my own) that I didn't destroy. I'm sure glad I saved some! One day I hope to catalog the collection of about 1500 cars in a similar manner as yours, but I know that will be a serious undertaking. Thanks for sharing!

You are very welcome! image It actually took me only about 3 days to take all the pictures, and then I do an update of new purchases or new finds of old purchases once a year image Still working on labeling them all, though. Only about 1/3rd of the way through photographing the NASCAR collection right now.

Of course I should probably mention those three days were spent from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed image

This is actually my 25th year of collecting, and I also have my brother's collection so I have some from before I was born that have been in my family since new image

    Thanks!

    Nice cars Billy.

Being from the UK NASCAR isn't well known over here but a few years back when I was in the Navy and we had some shore leave me and a couple of friends hired a car and drove from Cocoa beach to Daytona to stay for a few days. While at Daytona we decided to go to the NASCAR track and were surprised to hear cars racing as there we had just missed the 500 race by a week.

We found out the cars racing round were part of the Richard Petty Driving Experience. need less to say we paid and got a go. 3 laps round in a NASCAR, a day I'll never forget.

Very cool! I bet that was a thrilling excitement. I've never done it, actually.

Car stuff is actually my #1 hobby, coins/currency is #2 at best...it varies depending on how I am feeling at that time really!

The real question, however, is whether the premium over bullion on all these was less than the America The Beautiful 5 ounce "quarters".

Since not all of these are 5 ounces, how about on a percentage basis?

Can you give more details on the Zeppelin piece? An original is probably out of my price range, maybe this wouldn't be, would be great to display with the 4 and a half foot long scale model I'll be building in 2011, and just to have, too!

Yeah, but the number of collectors is 20. Hence there is little demand, hence it's collected as bullion. Same with Isle of Man, Gibraltar, and all the other Pobjoy Mint stuff (as well as Marshall Islands, Cook Islands, and other Franklin Mint stuff).

Pruebas - good points, but Franklin Mint demand is relatively picking up with many of the scarcer coins and sets developing home markets, demand rising and coins selling for multiples of issue, believe it or not. ie Try to buy a Trinidad 1983 mint set or 84 proof set!

    Well, just Love coins, period.

Thanks Agentjim. 92 is still a little steep for me but it's a lot more obtainable than 200 something, or more.
