Looking to piggyback on $4.25 special - POPPAGE! See Last Post...

So while I did a piggyback sub with a few members last month (as the submitter), this special has also sucked me in. Looking to get some a few folks to join me in subbing under the special below. I have a good 20 or 25 I have ready, and could have more in a few weeks (although would be willing to sub well before the end of the month). Any takers? I have subbed for a few others with no issues, and have piggybacked with bobbyw and with 54Topps (in progress).

Do note that I typcially split the costs evenly to send to and from PSA evenly on a per card basis, which ends up being around $.75 - $.85/card.

For a nice and clean break, anyone interested must confirm with me by Friday November 12th at 12PM CST. Card to be to me by Monday the 22nd so I can mail in before Turkey Day

Let me know - thanks, and contact with questions.

Pete

    Pete,

I may have some as well. I assume you will be sending in "normal" size cards? I should be able to have a pretty good idea by tomorrow how many I will have.

    Thanks.
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I made a post earlier indicating that I'm open to piggybacks on my sub. Last minute I know, but I'm at 40-45 cards myself and would rather have a piggybacker than sub stuff I'm dubious of.

Cards arrived today - hopefully it's clean loggage (ie I didn't screw up the submission).

Here are mine! Thanks again Pete...

    2 1 17855248 NEAR MINT-MINT 8 1994 SP 15 ALEX RODRIGUEZ FOIL Card US
    3 1 17855249 MINT 9 2007 TOPPS CHROME TC181 ADRIAN PETERSON XFRACTOR Card US
    4 1 17855250 GOOD 2 1961 FLEER 36 OSCAR ROBERTSON Card US
    5 1 17855251 NEAR MINT-MINT+ 8.5 1989 FLEER 616 BILL RIPKEN FF ERROR Card US

My thoughts that I shared with Pete:

The Big O grade sucks. I learned my bidding lesson with jhustle (eBay id) auctions. Description was way over done and did not mention creases. I was worried about EOT since it was raw but thought if would grade higher if it did slab. Oh well, mixed feeling on that one. Still happy with a $50 card purchase and $5 to grade. Just checked and VCP on a 2 is $86 so guess I got a deal. This is going in my RC collection so the price is not a big deal but makes me happy to see that I got a bargain!

AROD is a joke. BCCG 10 eBay buy. I should have asked for a scan of the back as that is what killed this card. Oh well maybe I can sell it for $40 or so to get some money back from my $100+ purchase.

Peterson should have been a 10! Still happy with it.

FF got about what I thought. I would prefer if I could have just had PSA authenticate it. I am going to get some classic error cards and this is the first for the collection.

  • Got my cards last night from this sub- here they are. It would be difficult for me to be too much happier with the results.

*1970 Topps #305 World Series Game 1- PSA 8 was hoping for a 9. I'll have to settle for an incredibly nice 8.
*1970 Topps #315 Luis Aparicio- PSA 8 expected
*1970 Topps #698 Tom Tresh- PSA 8.5 VERY happy with this one; this card is a toughie. I had it at an 8.
*1970 Topps #707 Kevin Collins- PSA 8 this was the 'best case scenario' grade

*1971 Topps #66 NL Home Run Leaders- PSA 8 see Collins, Kevin
*1971 Topps #386 Red Sox team- PSA 8 expected
*1971 Topps #482 Padres team- PSA 8 expected
*1971 Topps #616 Larry Hisle- PSA 7 I was thinking 7.5, but can live with a 7. Probably should not have subbed this one, in retrospect.
*1971 Topps #738 Russ Gibson- PSA 7 the only card in the sub where I think I really got robbed. The nicest of the five '71s I sent in IMO. I thought 8 for sure

*1975 Topps #320 Pete Rose- PSA 8 I was thinking either 8 or 8.5. One fisheye probably gave it the lesser grade.
*1975 Topps #630 Greg Luzinski- PSA 10 the first PSA 10 in my collection older than 1978!!! image

-Both of the '75s came from an absolutely beautiful near set I bought from Brett (ymarea) a while ago. The Luzinski was the nicest card in the set. I already had one in PSA 9 when I bought the near set, but the one I got from Brett was so damn nice I had to sent it in. Glad I did!

*1978 Topps #201 Batting Average Leaders- PSA 9 this card was a freebie from Mark (cincyredlegs) that he threw in with a couple '59s I bought from him on the BST forum. Thanks Mark!
*1978 Topps #269 Wayne Twitchell- PSA 10 image
*1978 Topps #379 Skip Lockwood- PSA 9 fair enough
*1978 Topps #403 Bud Harrelson- PSA 10 image
*1978 Topps #411 AL Championships- PSA 8 you can't win 'em all
    *1978 Topps #465 Hal McRae- PSA 10 POP 2!!!!

    Jason,

Congratulations on the fine sub results. I was very pleased to read your comments about the '75's you bought from me. I'm glad to know you like 'em.
