Swiss Cantons Grade in.. and a couple of Brits

I just got the grades on these back and must admit to be a little surprised the Aargau only made 64, in hand it's very flashy with minimal marks. None the less, a decent piece for my "Isn't that a pretty coin" set.

In this batch I expected the '53 1/2d to make 65, but I guess you take what the grading gods give you.

Actually, some of these canton minors can be found in VERY pristine prooflike condition (equivalent of U.S. DMPL standard or better). I've had one or two over the years.

hey the Aargau piece is really nice - looks like way upper level 64 - I love these too

Thanks, as coinpictures noted these are often proof like looking, and this one is nearly so. I was honestly looking for a minimum of 65 and a good shot at 66 on it.

They (NGC) have been brutal on grades the last couple of months. I know a few people who are unhappy with them because of it.
