What can you tell me about the Sao Paulo show in December?

Has anyone here ever been to the SNB show in Sao Paulo? If so, please let me know how many dealers are there, if they have an auction, and anything else that you think might help me decide if I should go.

I didn't see any numbers, but the article in their newsletter said they would have both Brazilian and international dealers at the show. It's also a Latin America-wide show, so I suspect there will also be participation from numismatic groups in other countries from the region.

It says at last year's show there were 52 tables and attendance was about 500 people over the three days.

You want a legitimate excuse to go to Brazil in November? I'd be packing my bags if I were you. image

I was browsing their site, and it looks like they are working hard to promote an expansion of coin collecting in Brazil, with a very active YN program and a project to establish the rarity and surviving populations of all Brazilian coins.

Looks like I'll have to pay even more to get good ones in the future. image

I haven't had a legitimate excuse in 35 years. Why would I need one now?

Sao Paulo is a nice city to visit with some great food. I sure the coins will be nice as well. I wonder if you would have to speak Portugese to bargain with the dealers.

Unfortunately, it turns out I won't be doing the show this year. But if anyone else here goes, I'd love to hear a report!

I'd love to go back to Stockholm!

It's been a number of years since I was last there, though I did spend part of my day today helping my customer there with a system problem they are having. Have fun!
