<< <i>I am, and I know what the truth is. It's fairly simple, adults recollect what they did as children/teens. More of the time, they essentially buy what they could not when they were younger. We grow, we get jobs, get get paid, and we buy. Now with today's economy it's not as widespread as it could be as there is much less "disposable income". My point is, it isn't limited to one collecting "genre". Cards, comics, gaming cards, action figures, webkinz, beanie babies(ok, not really). I've been in the hobby long enough to see a lot of it. >>
This is my thinking as well, and if/when it happens I'll be ready in a big way. I have about 250 Base edition holofoils graded PSA 9 or 10, a few thousand sleeved non-foils, several unopened booster boxes, and an entire unopened case of booster boxes. My daughter and I had a GREAT time with them when she was little, so even if they never come back into popularity I'll still have great fondness for them.

Agreed.... but it doesn't account for all of the bidding. Four different people were in at $100 or more.
