I would absolutely want to hear from you. I hope everyday that someone will contact me on the Larry Bird cards I need so I can get that set finished (as well as several other sets).
I welcome the offers as long as it is reasonable based upon what I have. When I have a set that has nothing less than an 8, I don't want emails for 5's and 6's. I guess the opposite would be true as well, unless the price would be extremely low.
The others have hit the nail on the head. Think about how much we (registry members) could help each other with their sets by just contacting each other. I know I would rather get a card from a board member than some other options ... hmmm I wonder who that could be.

Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
great question. i would not mind. i would also not mind if members contact me if they want a card i might have.
now one final suggestion: putting in the sig line what sets you collect or even a link to your sets. oftentimes it is not easy to tell what someone collects.
It depends on what you mean by listed. If you're alerting me to one of your E-Bay auctions, don't bother. Those emails annoy me.
If you have a card just back from grading or sitting around your house, you notice I need it for one of my sets, and want to offer it off-line, then I very much welcome an email.

I have gotten emails about cards I need, but all were ebay spam. I wish I could get one email not pointing to an ebay auction.
I have always welcomed the emails too. When I was looking to break my 1955 Topps set I emailed around 20 or so collectors and I was amazed how many never even responded yet their comments said to contact them. One guy asked me not to email him which I thought was odd considering he was asking for upgrades. I have never had much success in selling cards this way. Perhaps the sets that I have collected over the years were not that plentiful.....I guess??
