Anyone here know the press operator (coiner) at the Carson City mint?

I am trying to get an extra 1884cc Morgan to be struck in press #1 with the dies that they use to make their commemorative medals.

I always thought that would be really neat.

If anyone here knows the operator (coiner) or even who lives in Carson city and would be willing to help I would greatly appreciate it!

    The dont use the CC dies any more from what I know, which is little. I think if you go to the museum site contact Bob Nylen. He can get you in touch with the right guy. His name slips my mind evedn though I saw him on Sat at the CC show.

    Ken Hopple is his name. He works the shows and special events. I think he lives in Reno
    and comes to CC when needed. Definitely contact Bob Nylen as Todd said. Go to the State
    of Nevada web site and look for the contact info by name.

    Not cancelled dies I want them to strike my cc Morgan with the dies they currently use to strike their commem medals that they sell to tourists and collectors.

    Wouldn't they have to run it through an annealing furnace to soften it before striking to prevent cracking their dies?
    If over-struck would a shadow of the original design remain? If so that would be cool . . . Interesting idea!

    Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
    Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

    Yeah, I sketched that during Hopple's bull session at the 2008 ANA Summer Seminar.
    The revese is simular to the 1876 Nevada So-Called Dollar.

    Yep that is the general idea, I think it would be cool to see the old design beneath the new one! Very cool!
