Need Help Unknow East India 1/2 Anna

Here is a coin/token I obtianed in a huge world coin lot. Anyone have any ideas about it.

its dated 181, East India Company 1/2 Anna. It weighs 12.6 Grams copper or bronze. Same size as a U.S. Kenndy Half.

I believe that this is a token, with a Hindu God on one side. In this case it looks like Hanuman.

Yep, looks like Hanuman the monkey god, from what little I know. And it's in imitation of an East India Company half-anna, but if I remember right, it's far too big for a half-anna piece. (The lettering's all wrong, anyway.) So it's a fantasy issue or token of some kind. (Temple token, maybe? I dunno.)

It wouldn't be contemporary to the 1818 date, I don't think, but it certainly could be from the 19th century.

It ain't a real coin, but that's not necessarily bad news. Could actually be worth a little more than a common half-anna of the era would be, anyway- who knows?

We've got some folks here who will know.

Hanuman must like billiards, hence the rack of balls in his hand. image

This is a modern piece which might not even be a temple token. Worth just the intrinsic value of the metal.
