Only three wins this year, I will try for more next year.

I have to say though that all 3 of the "Best British Sets of 2010" are moderns(QE II to be precise), what's up with that?

My guess would be that the owners of nice to superb sets, such as the previous poster, simply don't bother to register them. If you don't have Heritage's Boston ANA catalogue, you'll never be able to enjoy one of the best Victorian type sets ever assembled, raw or slabbed. Others enjoy registering every single coin they own, to the extent of having over 20 sets registered. To each....
Edited to add: Ooops, just saw his new sigline, congrats.

Congrats to this years winners though.
<< <i>I'm a bit surprised that pcgs has again failed to honor some outstanding Canadian sets. Instead, they pick the same set year after year as though it's the only interesting set in the registry. For instance, this set is one that is fairly decent, with a good quality example of a tough date in the 1921 slot. Why is it not honored? Or how about this one?. There's a whole bunch of others that contain rare coins in immaculate grades, yet they get neglected year after year. >>
Are you unhappy about a set that you have? Both of the sets you cited have the blue star for 2010. I think they have changed some parameters from last year as my German Weimar set got nothing this year, because it is only 89.47% complete.

3Mark, the blue star is an automatic for any set that is number one, and greater than 90% complete. The real awards are for the sets that pcgs recognizes with a gold star. This is their way of saying that a certain set is particularly outstanding. My beef is that they give the gold star to the same set year after year without seeming to glance at any other sets. Am I unhappy about a set I have? Yes...but neither of the sets I mentioned are mine...and they are definitely worthy of recognition.
I was just curious. I have a gold star set here. This set may never be complete since I know of no one that has seen a 1917 Saxony "Friederich the Wise" in gem proof and they rarely appear at all, but this set took 8 years to get to this point and is one of two German sets awarded this year. This is a extremely hard set. Why don't you post your set? I would like to see it or them.
Thanks,

One of the closest I've seen is Wybrit's Victoria farthing date set, which contains some spectacular coins, but is only 2/3 complete. I'm sure that will be a contender for recognition in future years.
The only mystery is why Hus's 1/3 farthing set wasn't recognized again.
Readers Digest condensed version- The Registry needs to be placed in perspective... it is fun... it helps organize a collection and even gives you the opportunity to share your collection with others if you choose - among other benefits.
The competition component is something that... well... has some benefits and negs.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I think Mac's set deserved to be recognized this year, in spite of being just shy of 100%. It got the blue star and it is unlikely another set like that will surface in my lifetime. I sure won't have one, since I have a personal dislike of the Young Head crown (and a dislike of its price too
Modern British sets? Bah! Try getting a set of Vicky material in >= MS65.
