Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

For those of you who deal with idiots on ebay regularly...

...maybe you can help me and translate this message I got. For the record I sold him one card for about $30.

PLEASE read ALL &reply DIRECT thru Ebay.Cause my email BLOCKS many]Please ANSWER 2-QUESTIONS(BELOW)SOON]Hi,I HOPE all is GOOD! I'm SORRY I couldn't contact SOONER. Been SO BUSY with work(+farm &yard-work)+relatives visiting &BAD phone/DSL-net problems.I had off/on line-noise last week but phone co. SUPPOSE to fixed. But then lightning-strikes made ringer on 1phone ring 5 times. Then phone had BAD-noise &later NO dial-tone.+It effected DSL-service &I couldn't get online(STILL NOT 100% fixed). But I'm a SERIOUS PayPal-VERIFIED buyer with GLOWING-feedback &I ALWAYS pay.I OFTEN buy MANY items(100+)from SAME seller if good prices &I SAVE on shipping. So #1-Can u do as MANY sellers have done &HOLD ALL I win till I REQUEST u ship in 1-box? +ONLY charge me ACTUAL shipping based on rates at usps.com? Other sellers allow me to pay when DONE buying(or by 30th-day)so I DON'T lose my PayPal-Protection days. U STILL can open UNpaid-case on 32nd-day so NO risk.So #2-Can u PLEASE do the SAME? Many thanks!

Calgon, take me away.

    I don't sell but...

    1. Way, way too much information - TMI!!!!

    2. He wants to hold off paying since he'll be buying more stuff from you - I've asked a seller to hold while I wait for another auction to close in a couple of days - I have 100% FB and sellers don't have a problem.

I know this was probably rhetorical and you pretty much got the message - the guy may be a good buyer and just likes to ramble on....

    Don't we all sometimes?

edit: I don't know your shipping policy - so this may violate it - if so - the guy shoulda read that before bidding IMO.

  • YES asking to wait UNTIL other auctions end is a COMMON thing when looking to PURCHASE multiple items from THE same seller. IT usually does not go 30 days UNTIL they are all combined on 1 invoice THOUGH. Sounds like they WERE bonding with you by giving ALL that information in THE request.

I only pay once a year so if you can just invoice me in late December I promise I will pay by the next December after that.

I am a good buyer with lots of cash so you know I can be trusted. If you want you can just ship the stuff as I buy it an invoice me when I want to pay.

    Would I lie??

Sorry nothing to add that hasnt already been said, but when I saw the title of this thread, I thought you might be passing out handguns or something like that.
  • tell him to pay as he goes and you will hold them until he request shipment, no need for you to go without while he does his buying, saves on ship cost and keeps you from holding an unpaid card for 30 days,, win/win for both,,,, also looks like hes actually texting the email he sent could be the reason its confusing to read,,, good luck,, bj

Among all that BS he simply wanted to know if he could continue buying from you

and pay when he is finished which could be never.

Reply back with similar BS (garbled) and say NO.

My gut feeling tells me he's a nice guy, I'd trust him if the feedback looks good. He might be foriegn, or have foriegn values???

    Personally, I'd deal with him.

The seller will lose his PayPal "seller protection" by delaying shipment on paid orders.

I would ask for a "mutual cancellation" of the sale and BLOCK that buyer ASAP.

I agree. I would look at his feedback. If it pans out as he noted, several multiple purchases, no flags....I would like say, aright. Waiting a week or two for payment is better then no sale or at times a low sale. It does suck when it is a high dollar item. (Have been waiting on one payment around $200 for over a week, but it is a repeat customer...who is usually slow.)

Also, it depends on your shipping policy. I have no problem sending at cost...which is what he also wants.

If he is of course looking at $0.99 items, I would just put him on the blocked list.

If his feedback is ok, he might be legit. I would wonder why he didnt send you the encryption BEFORE he bid and won though

I think that is a copy-pasted message that he sends to all the sellers he plans on scamming.

i was thinking that same way,, if he pays as he goes the 30 day clock is ticking on each purchase, that would cancel out or do away with returns if buyer isnt happy, if you wait 30 days then ship u hold your breath for another 30 days wondering if hes going to return an item, get the process rolling asap, if he agree's whats the problem, or just resend an invoice w/o shiping cost, combine on 1 invoice for a weeks purchases he makes to lower the paying per card hassle,,, when he emails you to send then you have the correct weight its going to cost for 1 ship price,,,,,bj

You must ship the item within 7 days of receipt of payment.

Or, if the payment is for pre-ordered or made-to-order goods,

shipment is required within the timeframe specified in your item listing.

Failure to comply voids your INR-protection. Your USPS Delivery
Confirmation or Signature Confirmation will be disallowed and
the buyer can keep your merch AND get his money back.
