Which would you rather have in your collection? 1948 Bowman Berra PSA 7 and 1948 Bowman Spahn PSA 7, or 1963 Mantle PSA 8.

I have to go with the Berra because it is his rookie card and very cool looking in black and white. I have one now that is raw that would grade about a 2 maybe 3 on a good day.

The Berra...its a classic card, a rc, more rare in high grade.

Spahn doesnt compare. As far as the Mantle goes, there are plenty of high grade examples out there where you can always pick up another day. Plus, its not what of the more interesting Mantles.

Unlike most cards, I think the Berra will take a little jump in price when he passes.

I hope to get my Berra rc autographed this weekend..after his recent fall and overnight in the hospital, I hope he is well enough to make Cooperstown this weekend.

I'd go with Warren Spahn, for personal reasons... I grew up in Atlanta a huge Braves fan! Pitch Spahn, then Sain, then pray for rain!

But you really can't go wrong with any of those three options!

RB, I am not sure if everyone is reading your post in its entirety, but this is a No Brainer for me. I would take the 48 Berra AND the 48 Spahn over the 63 Mantle anyday. Your talking about arguably one of the best Catcher and LH pitchers to ever play the game.

How about the 63 Berra in an 8? One of the tuffest vintage cards out there. I have only seen a handful.

whichever is the better deal when you buy them. If you can get both at the same price from the same source then whatever is the better deal in relation to VCP, obviously.
