1971 Topps Baseball "SWEET" POPPAGE

This sub popped last week and the pop reports have been updated to reflect these cards. These are some of the nicest 71's I've ever owned. The high # Morales card is a monster card--Only three 9's total and no tens. I think only the top guy has a 9 in the registry. The 7's are complete head scratchers.
The top 4 cards will all be on EBAY tonight.

Just to add: I really think the Morales could have graded a 10. Very glossy and the corners will cut you. About perfectly centered.

Guys, be honest. Are those good scans? That is about the absolute best I can do with my Canon scanner. I've been scanning at 200 DPI. Should I scan at 300? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Scans are "ok"...but look a little fuzzy.

If you want better scans, you'll have to purchase a new scanner that has a CCD Scanning Element. This is what would capture the depth of the slab, and your scans won't be blurry. Try the Epson Perfection, it's works great for me, and I know others have the same scanner who scan graded cards.

    EDIT TO ADD: Nice grades!!

Time for an Epson. You are leaving money on the table with scans like those. Sweet cards though.

Which # Epson Perfection? There are so many different model numbers. They look like they have quite the price range also.

    Thanks Guys,

I have an Epson Perfection V300 - bought it online earlier this year for about $100 - and it is so much better than the HP all-in-one that I had been using.

BTW - those 71's are NICE!!!

I got the V300 for $137.80 shipped from Best Buy last December. Love it.

I just bought the V300. I used my ebay bucks, Bing and all. It came to about $30 bucks. Thanks for the info on the scanner.

I just got a new Epson scanner, too. But the only thing I don't like about it, is that it will not scan 4 cards at once (and give 4 individual pics), as my Canon did.

    That seems strange.

Am I missing a trick here?

    Very nice! Beauties.

Not sure about the scanner - I'm still using a 6 or 7 yr old HP - I scanned this one recently at 300 DPI:

File size is about 86KB - I think it's starting to show it's age but still working.

This is a good scanner...less than $65 delivered. Sometimes it goes on sell for less than $50.

Don't put them on ebay until you are able to make better scans. I agree with Mike above that would be leaving money on the table. I think it will be well worth the few days wait it takes to get your new scanner in. Good luck with your sale. I hope they do VERY well for you.

I agree with the above posters. I purchased the Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner a little more than a year ago and got it delivered for about $100.00.

I don't really know how to BEST use it and the scans I have been able to generate are still FANTASTIC. You will be VERY happy. AND YES, you MUST wait for that scanner to be delivered so you can get better scans and NOT leave $$$$$ on the table.

GOOD LUCK ... those cards look like BEAUTIES!
    STAY HEALTHY!
