Another good night at the ballpark

I guess there is never a bad night at the ballpark but this was better than most. I went to the Potomac Nationals game. It was a free bobble head night for the owner commemorating his 70th birthday. There were several dignitaries there for the 7th inning stretch ceremony. I sat next to Jimmie Lee Solomon, the Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations for MLB. I am sure most have not heard of him but I talked with him all evening. He is friends with almost all the baseball stars past and present. He talked about many players and personal experiences he had with them. It was very fascinating. I asked him when my Pirates would start getting better. He did not leave me with much hope there.

I saw Potomac last year against the Frederick Keys when Elijah Dukes was sent down rehabbing an injury. It was a very fun time and I enjoyed being there. It was amazing the difference in body stature of Dukes compared to the rest of the guys on the field.

It doesn't sound nearly as interesting as your evening of sitting and talking with someone in the know. That doesn't happen too often!
