What does everyone budget for a trip to the Naitional? I mean including airfare, hotel, food, cards? I would love to go next year, but I need to figure out how much I need to save for the trip.

Paul, I travel ALOT so I use hotel/airline points that I accumulate over the year to pay for my hotels and airfare, so I have no out of pocket there. I typically bring about 3K to the shows. $2500 for cards and about $500 for a nice meal out and drinks, baseball games, etc.

My main reason for going is to get Cal's autograph... everything else is just gravy. I'm only planning on taking about $1000 to the show. I'm staying with family, so no hotel room needed. I need to stay on a budget because I'm buying a new Suburban when I get home. image

Last year the show was in my back yard (Cleveland), but I only spent about $400 because I really couldn't find anything worth buying for myself. This year, since the show is in the same city as my favorite baseball team, I'll need to TRY and not go hog-wild at this one...

I have a quick question about next years show in Rosemont, IL...

Is this anywhere close to either of the Chicago baseball ballparks?

    Thanks!
  • bbuckner22bbuckner22 Posts: 1,028
Rosemont is closer to Wrigley, but the traffic getting to there is a nightmare. US Cell Park is all the way across town and pretty far east as well.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.
