Ebay Seller duma1300, Anyone on Here?.. Another Bad Seller

Anyway, I won 9 auctions, all 1 card each, and he's gonna charge 18.25 for shipping. Just thought I would out him.

That is a crappy practice by the seller--truly a donkey's backside.

However, I regularly buy multiple auctions from single sellers--and I feel it is my responsiblilty as a buyer to ask in advance of placing bids on multiple items what each seller's policy is regarding combined shipping. If they don't respond--I have to assume that they may not combine--and therefore can not blame them if they don't combine.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
  • If he has chosen not to combine shipping and give you any discount, make sure you pay for each purchase on its own so he does not benefit in savings of Paypal fees.

If they are shipped in one package you may feel the need to nuetral/negative his feedback.

Did you make any communication about combined shipping?

I did contact him after he sent the first invoice, he sent me a second invoice and an email just stating that the invoice was sent. I asked him if he was really going to charge 18.25, and he did not respond.

Edit: I think 18.25 is combined, it would be about $29 if he did not combine.

DSR of 4.5 on shipping charges, yikes!
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

    Hi Al

Looking at the link he does not state he combines, with that said any honest seller would simply do it

anyway. Have you contacted him? Many times an invoice arrives and it does not have the discount.

I'd email him and ask him what's up.

If you have already, then simply pay for each item separately that way he has to ship them separately

if he chooses to protect himself.

    Ouch.

Al sorry I was typing while you replied.

All I can say is next time a seller has no written policy ask.

Bottom line with the 18.25 added expense are the cards still worth it?

If so, do it. If not then politely tell him to cancel the auctions I guess.

Sorry this happened to you, but it has happened to many of us one time or another too.

It has happened to me before as well, and it definitely made me much more cautious, this one just took me by surprise. I just thought I would out the guy as a douchebag seller.

He meets that requirement. Check out his nuetral and negative feedback, postage due after charging $3.25.

Seller has been around a long time. Evidently he is willing to accept low DSRs, little repeat business and some negatives for a little extra profit on shipping. When a seller has a large number of feedback and scores below 99.5% there is a good chance he/she has problems.
