Strasburgh super going into a pack of Razor

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hZzAVMQtZE

Didn't see it already posted. Apparently Razor bought the card for 21k and is going to randomly insert it into one of their packs.

I have had the auction saved and tax daddy's feedback did not rise from 47 so I assumed somthing was not right. I think this price is crazy but it is great for the hobby. I broke down and bought some packs on Saturday of Bowman and Allen and Ginter's. That means more demand is coming becuase I think so many of these cards will be worthless. This is like 1989 Upper Deck or 1985 product. My local card shop where I generally buy supplies has seen his sales rise nicely becuase of the launch of his cards. I am not a hater like mentioned in the article but an indusrty vet who has seen so many can not lose cards become worthless. Only time will tell here.

So what's the value of this thing if all the bidding in both auctions had been legitimate?

We know taxdaddy was legit, but what about the people he was bidding against? The winner obviously bailed the second time and it isn't even clear whether this razor guy was the runner up. (I would guess not since the price dropped to 21k).

I get the feeling that somewhere a bunch of stoners are slapping themselves silly over how they inflated the price of this card.

Isn't that somehow illegal? I wonder what topps thinks about this?

Why would this be considered illegal?

It's not like they are selling counterfeit Gretzky rc's... exactly what do you see to cause concern??

It seems like the same thing as those crappy boxes claiming you have a shot at a Mantle rc..

The company bought it and wants to put it in a box/pack as a chase card, I'm not seeing a problem? Unless I'm too drunk and missed something here?

They should cut it up into little pieces, like some do with uniforms and equipment.

Best way to circumvent Topps for creating artificially limited cards.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • I don't trust Razor as far as I can throw them. Since this stuff is likely to be hand-packed out, I really would be wary. It would be easy to know what card is in what case, and who it is sold to. It is not like companies have been accused of doing shady thingsin the past, and Razor has had a few questionable issues.
