Your Quirkiest Collecting Habits?

Aside from going after certain sets or certain star players or error cards, are there any kind of weird things you collect when it comes to modern cards?

Such as cards of players who have done time?

Cards of players who never played in an MLB regular season game?

Cards of players sporting goatees on the front of their cards.

I only collect Rick Manning and Cleveland Indians and Browns cards so it's not that weird.

Yeah...although I don't think I plan it that way. A few examples that I can think of immediately are:

1)Anthony Young cards in the 90s during the time that he had the record losing streak.
2)The first cards of players I like with new teams
3)The last card of players I like showing career stats

I'm sure there are more. image

A Rick Manning collection would have to have a Dennis Eckersley collection to go along with it...

I collect DNA samples from all semi-stars of MLB past and present. I currently have a syringe used by Brady Anderson, a piece of chewing gum once chewed by Kevin Mitchell, a half eaten apple that belonged to Mike Greenwell, birthday cake fragments that Cecil Fielder had in his mouth for a few seconds, and spit collected from John Rocker when I challenged him to a duel. My plan is to collect these for the next few years and then I'm gonna combine them all and create the ultimate semi-star.

Mr 1340 also forgot to mention that because of his proximity to his home town, he has some "questionable" items that used to belong to the great Johnny Mize! image

In all seriousness when I was a senior in high school I was the #1 golfer in the area and got to play with Johnny Mize in a golf tourney a few months before he died. He didn't get out of the cart to tee off except on the par 3's and only got out to putt if it was a long putt. He was a very ornery old guy to say the least, but it was still a worthwhile experience.

Cecil Fielder willingly gave up some cake that was in his mouth? That I find hard to believe. IF you had to get near his mouth to get the cake do you still have all of your fingers?
