Wow, what a surprise - he was one tough SOB.

    RIP to Bob Probert.

Probert was a huge cocaine user. Remember he went to the clink for it. I remember in a playoff game in St. Louis and I was there at the old arena. Probert kicked Cujo in the leg pad and Cujo brought his stick right up in Probert's crotch. Low and behold the next move made is Probert knocks Cujo right on his ass with a roundhouse all out punch. The fight was on between both teams let me tell ya. It was a freaking madhouse. Probert ejected and the best I can remember Cujo sat on the bench the rest of the night with most likely the headache from hell. Almost 20 years ago and I can still see Cujo's skates flying out from underneath him.

I always enjoyed watching Probie and Kocur. Good times, good times.
  • This really sucks. As the worlds biggest Ranger fan from 1981 till whatever day they got Lindros, I loved Probert as a worthy opponent. Domi interned in our town although I never met him. Still....

I guess what resonates with me is that even though I'm in Virginia right now, I started today on the shores of Lake Erie. And Friday night my crazy uncle played in a band on some island right near where Probert collapsed. What a beautiful weekend - beer, kielbasa, fireworks, flags, but then the end of an all around good guy*

*Yes, I know he was a cokehead and a drunk. But he WAS old-time hockey, and a great guy to root against on the ice and from what I've heard, a great guy off the ice. RIP Probert

  • After being a little P.O.d about Domi's showboating during the round one fight at MSG .......

Pay close attention to the round two fight ~ Domi takes 3 or 4 maybe 5 or 6 incredible shots (and i do mean incredible) that would have easily put most people in the hospital.......... but to his credit ~ Domi amazingly pretty much survives ...........

    R.I.P. Bob

Domi on Probert and more .....

yeah it's a better NHL now that most of the uselessness like Domi are gone. You'll always have your mouthbreather teams like Toronto, Philly, the Rangers, and St. Louis where they're being run like it's still 1985...and that's why they don't win jack. 4 years / $6.5 million for Boogaard who plays 4 minutes a game...you can't make that stuff up.

Bip was a pretty good second baseman. His 1986 extended set RCs were his most popular issues, I believe.

    RIP Bip
