I'd be pretty psyched if I had '69 Ryans in my junk box!

    Nice pickup!

I'd have a blast going through something like this. How long did it take you to sort through it all? Assuming you already have.

My question (and it's really none of my business) is what did it cost?

Would be fun to sort and I even see some stuff I wouldn't mind having as well (and I'm not talking about the first three added pics either).
  • That is a very sweet assortment of things!

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Namaths and Ryan's in a junk box..., not to mention Montana RC, Marino RC, etc, etc. Perhaps you should show us what was in the "non-junk box." That would be a blast to sort through especially considering you might find some awesome cards. Do you plan on eBaying this stuff?

This is some of the good stuff I bought. It was two different lots, 400.00 each lot.
I have already sold over 250.00 of it so far and have all that is in the pictures left.
plus a bunch of Junk wax on the shelves for .50 pack or 3 for $1

I'd venture to say $800 was a fair price.

On a related note - what is it with card stores and screwdown holders? Isn't it pretty well known that they're a bad idea as a storage option?

I call dibs on the Diet Dr. Pepper with Cherry. We don't have any Dr. Pepper with cherry in our stores for some reason, so I'd even try out the diet version.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

Judging by the fact that there's a Mark Grace Donruss rookie in a screwdown, I would venture to say this collection has not been touched since the mid-90's. Magnetic one-touches had not yet become an affordable option, I don't think.

Smitty, I would be interested in any Broder's you come across. I would imagine a collection like this from the 90's would be packed with them.

That, and the $38 price tag on the Topps Mattingly RC lol. Great pick up, love to see a close up of the '53 Berra. Nice Mantles too!

Seems like a good pick up for eight hun. Very cool. Looks like a lot of fun... though I wouldn't have the time to sort that. WOW. Lots of stuff.

i dont think that Berra is a vintage '53, rather some heritage or reprint berra. looks a little short in the top loader.

If there is any more 69 Basketball is in there, I need mid grade commons for autos! image
  • Probably all the rookies need to be graded.

One PSA 10 or about 3 PSA 9's just from the Steve Young rookies would cover the cost of the entire purchase.

I also see a 1993 UD series 2 baseball box image If you want to sell it, PM me.

Dr. Pepper Cherry is totally awesome....with just a KISSSSS of cherry. Even the diet is great, one of the few diet drinks I can stand.
