Will PSA...?

I am collecting a full set of 2010 Bowman autograph cards, and would like them to be slabbed once I have my set complete.

I'm not interested in having them graded, just slabbed. Will PSA provide this service?

I think you are talking about PSA/DNA? If so the answer is yes.

They will and can just authenticate the auto and not grade the card.

I hope I understood your question properly.

Someone else may chime in, if not simply call CS.

Why not just get some nice screw-down holders from the card shop? That'd be a lot cheaper than sending them to PSA.

I dont think that Jay is looking to have the autos authenticated especially since they are certified autos. (I am of course assuming that these are out of pack autos and not TTM or IP). That would cost him a bundle.

I dont think that PSA slabs for only protection purposes but I may be wrong?

I think you would just have to submit under normal grading. If you dont care about the grade, thats fine, you have your cards slabbed.

Right now I keep my cards in magnetic one-touch holders, but I would like to have them slabbed because I feel that this is a safer casing for the card, and it should last the life of the card correct?

I'm not concerned about the grade, I just like uniformity. I wouldn't want my set to have random grades (but then again that's my OCD speaking).

I'll call PSA and see if they will slab with no grades.

If you're looking for protection, I think BGS slabs provide the best. Plus, PSA graded cards tend to knock around inside the holder when you shake them.

If you're gonna spend $5 to $10 per card to get them slabbed JUST for protection purposes, why not pick a solution that doesn't need fixing?

Because the cards have an autograph on them I doubt PSA will simply slab them authentic.

That would confuse the public. Regardless what his intentions are with these cards.

They may only allow him to use PSA/DNA for these cards correct?

And if that is the case he can choose between the red and blue slabs service.

At least that is how I think it will be.

I think you could use the green label service. I'm not 100 percent sure you can use it for cards but sounds like that's what are looking for

these posts always bring this question to mind.

why wouldnt you call PSA to find out.

if i wanted to know if my butcher would give me a certain cut of meat i wouldnt ask the plumber. i would ask the person i plan to do business with.

As far as I know, PSA will slab game used / auto cards. (These are the auto cards that have the cut auto or that the player signed for the card company, a la, the Strasberg auto, and not where you have the player sign the card after the fact.) The cards will receive a numeric grade based on the condition of the card and not the auto. When I asked PSA about slabbing game used cards, they said that if the card is within the thickness of 3 normal cards, it would be slabbed within a regular holder. If the card is thicker than that, it would need to go under a difference invoice (and maybe service level?) and be slabbed in a holder similar to how unopened packs are slabbed.

If they are just plain non-manufactured autographed cards, you can get them red slabbed "authentic" only. If they are manufactured autographed, I'm not sure if they offer the authentic only option for red flips. Regardless, you should be able to get blue flips "authentic" only for either versions

I got off of the phone with a PSA customer service representative today, and she informed me that they can not give cards a "no grade" if they are current, manufactured autographed cards.

Bummer. I prefer the PSA cases, but looks like I'll need to go with Beckett.

Just send the cards to ISA. They only charge $4/card and the slabs are a hybrid of PSA and SGC. Well worth the money if you never intend to sell the cards.

Do you mean one-touch or holders like that?

I'm not sure how these hold up over the long haul. I was under the impression that PSA or BGS cases would hold up better over time, and offer better safety/security.

Here's my "hack" version of do it yourself slabbing. The slabs are called ProTech mini-slabs and they run around $1.00 each. My flips were just labels I got at Office Depot and printed on, I'm sure you can make some nice design labels if you are so inclined.
