eBay Screwjob alert

Frank Thomas 1990 Topps Rookie Error

It's actually a reprint as the buyer states in the third sentence. Ouch. Look at the price.

I always wondered what happens when you "assume".

I had to ask him if it is a 1990 Topps card or a 2010 topps card because it can't be both like he states. I know the answer but I like to ask stupid questions to frustrate scammers.

First...anyone bidding on a card touted as rarer than the Holy Grail from a seller with a grand total of 5 feedbacks deserves to get stung.

Second...anyone bidding such an outrageous sum of $700 for a REPRINT error card has got to be on some kind of medication that disconnects his synapse from any electrical flow.

Third...I didn't know that reprints are worth 1.5 times the original. I'm calling Fritsch today and making some bulk purchases based on this startling info.

Fourth...the whole thing is BS to me.

The 0 feedback bidder is either someone messing with him or he himself.

Last night I asked him why he thought reprints were worth more than the originals.

Actually I asked him "are you really this stupid"

    Anyway his reply:

August 2010 edition of Beckett states the cards your mom threw out with the original back are worth .6 to 1.5 of the originals

I need help, could someone translate that for me?

Gladly, the Beckett disciple has carefully determined that the reprint multiplier refers to the value of the original card, not of the card from the 2010 set. And since all Beckett people can figure out a way to pump that value up, he actually DOES think this card is worth 1k or more.

  • It's back down to $26.00 (was like $600 by a 0).

I reported it as misleading to eBay because that kinda junk ticks me off so I'm surprised it's still up there.

I guess it's not misleading enough?

I hope the high bidder figures it out.
  • sellers like this are so frustrating..its even worse when they think they actually have something! Did anyone tell him that beckett mean 1.5 x the price of the one without the original back? Lol
    who dey!
