Strasburg AUTO, 500k and falling

Just two more bids to walk and this is back to $335,000. The number of bids has now been almost cut in half and now that the bidding bonaza has ended people will continue to pull their bids. It would be wild if this back below 100k soon. That is still too much for this card.

maybe we can get a new thread every time there's a new bid - that would be cool and stuff

It's not so much that the heavy bids are "walking", the seller's giving them the boot himself.

If you look at the bid retractions there is a huge number that "entered the wrong amount".

I think this is a case of hot potato and once people realized there were no more greater fools they got scared and walked away. He has booted some no question.

The real story will be once it ends at whatever price; will they pay? Only time will tell.

Please start a thread to let us know.
  • Did this auction end yet, or is it still going ?
  • Someone told me it ended for .99 cents ? Is that true ?

Also, he said there are other cards like it on ebay right now ? Weird, but I'm not into the newer stuff.

Maybe they are reading this forum and realizing what fools they are for wasting their money.

The seller canceled all of the bids and ended the auction. Not a big surprise...too many idiots placing fake bids.

I've read where the leading autograph forgers are no longer interested in doing Babe Ruth autographs but are now focusing on doing Strasburg autographs.

I think Zep's point was that there are already about a dozen threads going on the exact same topic. Instead of starting a new one every day, just add commentary onto on of the already plentiful Strasburg 1/1 threads. Also, sarcasm is generally welcome on these boards.

does anyone besides me feel uncomfortable about watching Strasburg's next start?

it'll be easy actually to watch him on TV, now that ESPN, FOX and the Gang are orchestrating every move and the world begins to tip off its' axis, we can compare this thing to watching either a really GOOD day or a really BAD day on Wall Street.
