Stasburg broke the all-time Wins, Strikeouts, and Shutout records last night. Not only that, he lead the Nats to 45 straight World Series championships in his 4 game career.

I think that seller will be a little upset unless those bids are legit.

If the bidding isn't legit, the seller should come on here and post the identities of every jerk off who posted a bid just to screw up his auction. Some of those ebayers are bound to be sellers as well. Turnabout is fair play.

The top bidder and the seller could be the same person.

Both have JP in the name.

    coincidence?

If I was the seller I'd end the auction with the highest legit bid.

<< <i>If I was the seller I'd end the auction with the highest legit bid. >>

    absolutely
I'd even contact the high bid if it's legit, and offer to cut 100K off the price if he puts the money in escrow
I'd then end it, take my 900K and avoid the very real possibility of
    1) jerk-offs ruining this in the final hour of bidding or
    2) non-serious bidders driving it so high that the legit ones move away from the auction
Seller's gotta think that if the auction is ruined, winning bidder won't honor the bid, or if it's a kid messing around, etc he'd have to relist.
A lot can happen in the course of another week's auction - Stras can get hurt, or shelled, or even worse, a better 1/1 is pulled and comes on the market

Well I'm calling my bank to see about a mortgage, so I can bid on the Superfractor Strasburg 1/1 because that one seems underpriced at 22,500. LOL

I just wonder when strasburg will tie or break Johnny Vander Meer's record of 2 consecutive No-hitters?, or break Ryan's record of 7
    no- hitters?

I'd hate to be the buyer that tries to flip the 1,000,000 card for a profit.

I bet ebay is crying about the FVF :
    1. You sell an item for $100.00.
    2. Your final value fee is 9% of the final sale price, which is $9.00.

The maximum final value fee for auction-style listings is $50. For example, if you sell an item for $1,000, you’ll pay only $50, even though 9% of $1,000 is $90. LOL

I bet the IRS is watching this auction. because their FVF is higher than 50 bucks. LOL

Oh well wish it was my card, would definitely be hand delivering this baby (with bodyguards).

edited to say: Strasburg for cy young award and ROY award, ah lets just give it to him now.

The person that pulled it, should list the empty wrapper the card was once in. I bet that would go for an easy $20.

This kind of sucks for the guy selling the card. These are obviously BS bids and the winner is not going to pay. The Hype of the card will probably drop in the up and coming week and will cost the seller thousands of dollars by the time he relists it.

Wonder how is verifying ability to pay? INSANITY.

The hi bidder has a decent rating and 100% positive. It would be amazing if the price holds.

While this is truly an out of control price, all of the talk has got to be great for the hobby.

Do you think it would have been better to start it at really high BIN price (with instant payment required) and also accept best offers?

Best offers and Instant Payment don't work together. They should, but they don't.

no i meant the instant payment if someone used the buy it now - and just take best offers on it - but i agree they should have an option if you agree to a best offer that the person pays for it and then listing ends

Compared to the Bgs 9.5 1/1 superfractor this card is Bgs 10.0!
It might sell for 2x the price if graded!
