National in Baltimore PSA Show Specials

Does PSA usually have special pricing / discounts at the National Show? I want to get some cards graded, but I was thinking of taking them to the National if the prices might be better there.
Thanks!

I did it once i don't recall any discount! The only thing you save is the SH INS.

From what I remember, it was pretty expensive to have your cards graded on-site. I think it was $35 to have one card graded.

I am hoping for an August grading special so that I can drop off the sub at the show.

The onsite grading is too expensive for my humble cards.

I dropped a large sub off at the last National and everything went well. It takes a little longer for the sub to log (over a week), but the money saved was nice.

I wouldnt expect to see a grading special at the show. As mentioned earlier, it was $35 to have a card graded at the show last year. PSA did offer a PSA/DNA $10 special for any autograph obtained at the show, but that was the only special I can think of.

Rather than start a new thread, I was wondering if anyone going to the National would be willing to grab me a Calvin Murphy autograph on Saturday. I think it's 2pm. LMK. It's $20 and I'd send the cash, card and a few extra scheckles for the trouble. LMK

Just received an email from PSA ... This is from the website:

The 31st National Sports Collectors Convention

    - June 28, 2010

    Dear PSA customer,

As many of you know, PSA will be attending the 31st National Sports Collectors Convention to perform on-site card grading and autograph authentication from August 4 - 8, 2010. On-site card grading is a great way to have your submissions processed immediately, avoiding the time and expense of shipping your cards across the country.

Normally, our on-site card grading fees range from $35 to $250, depending on the declared value of the cards. Traditionally, most submitters have chosen on-site grading for their more valuable cards due to the fees involved.

There are, however, a large number of hobbyists who have expressed interest in grading cards of lesser value at the shows. In response, we are going to run aggressive on-site card grading specials for those cards with a declared value below $500 (per card). The specials will be based on quantity and the available pricing will be as follows:
Number of Cards PSA On-site Price Per Card
    10 $25
    25 $20
    50 $17.50
    100 $15
    200 $12

Since PSA is expecting a tremendous amount of interest in this special, anyone interested in taking advantage of this special should contact Customer Service toll-free at (800) 325-1121 or via email at info@psacard.com to reserve grading placement for the weekend. Placement will be based on a first come, first serve basis.

Thank you for your continued support of PSA. For those of you traveling to Baltimore in August, we look forward to seeing you at the show.

    Take care,
    Joe Orlando
