Message to anyone who attended the 1997 National
I'm looking for promotional tins that were handed out at the show.
Specifically, these tins were given out to showcase the product 1997 Donruss Preferred and are blue with a gold/bronze starburst.
I'm mostly looking for Frank Thomas, but I'd also be interested in any other players you may have.
If you can help, if but with nothing more than a scan, please share.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
<< <i>Where the promos only baseball? >>
That's my understanding Mark, but I wouldn't put anything past the 1990s.
Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.
<< <i>Was '97 Atlanta at the World Congress Center? >>
i thought 97 was cleveland and 98 was atlanta.

I believe that is correct.
I didn't get any promo's there. Sorry I can't help with the cards you're looking for.
Gene Simmons was there - all decked out - struggling to get up the escalator in his boots - it was pretty damn funny!!!!!
I didn't get or don't remember any promotional tins - sorry pal.

I live in Canton, Ohio and went to the ' 97 National on 4 or 5 different days, including on Tuesday night when they had among others Marion Motley, Dante lavelli, Nate Thurmond, Austin Carr, Al Oliver, and two different Playboy centerfolds, one of which was Victoria Zdrok all signing free autographs. If they were giving those away, I don't how I missed out, because I have saved alot of "stuff" from all the nationals in Cleveland. Highlights for me were grtting my picture with Muhammad Ali, Sandy Koufax, and Wilt Chamberlain, while they signed, in order, an Everlast boxing glove, two NL baseballs, and an authentic Lakers jersey. Easily, the best day of my autograph collecting life.
