Does this PSA Flip look ok?

Typical red flags - seller with little history, suddenly selling high end cards...I asked for a scan of the back of the card.

1957 Mays
Collecting all things Pittsburgh.

Completed my Clemente Basic Registry (2007 - 2014)!

    Not only is not having a back scan annoying, so is the white background on all the cards they list. It makes it harder to see if the case has been tampered with.

    This seller has a few cards I was interested in but with 9 feedback - no way. It may be legit but it seems curious that every card for sale is a 7.

    They have some nice cards, and they're probably real, but with the crappy scans on a white background you can't see if the PSA has been tampered with. It's also hard to see the edges of the cards with the white borders. Low feedback does not help either.

    Too many things working against them, I would not bid...Donato

    The flip is fine. Same goes for the other cards. The scans are all uniform (as opposed to looking like they're from different scanners), which is always a good sign. I would have no problem bidding on this seller's cards. Should be a good opportunity to score some bargains. Keep in mind, a seller with a 9 rating probably hasn't learned yet that scanning card backs, and against a black background, are important to buyers. Given the PP buyer protection, what do you have to lose?

    If the case is tampered with or a seller sends you a different card (both happened to me), PP protection is useless. For a tampered case you would need to send it into the grading company for an opinion. PSA is pretty good about it but they do break the card out of the holder. If they send you a different card, you need to get an "expert" opinion that.

    To me it's not worth the risk.

    I once bought a Gretzky RC that had been tampered with. I filed a dispute claiming that the holder had been breached and this was not disclosed. Paypal ruled in my favor once I provided evidence that the card had been returned. So, in my experience, PP buyer's protection does work for breached holders.

    "I Had a friend take pics. he is out of town. I can only tell you the card is original and unaltered. PSA wouldnt play any games. they are the franklin mint of cards. had the card since 1978"

    I agree that PP works for tampered cases once you have the evidence. My point is that the buyer has to do all of the work in order to get the money back. It's not like a SNAD or non-delivery, which is pretty easy to get a claim paid.

    I had to send the card to PSA in order to get the evidence, basically a letter from PSA. The buyer doesn't get compensated for the cost of doing that. PP wouldn't take photos as evidence.

    Believe me I've used PP protection many times and it has worked for me as well, but I would rather just avoid the risk all together.

    At this point, you can pretty much use any reason for a SNAD claim, and Paypal will instruct you to return the item to the seller for a full refund.
