Saberhagen '86 Topps/Topps Tiffany Quad

My favorite Saberhagen card. I recently picked up the O-Pee-Chee to complete the quad. Sad thing is I got outbidded on a photo proof of the card from the Topps Store. Maybe the person will eBay it one of the these days...

Thanks again to this last year's Secret Santa for the PSA/DNA.

Clear Skies,
Mark

Edit to add, my scanner is 10,000 plus scans old and has a "fog" on the glass now. The fog can be seen above, heavier in the lower section and is not present on the cards or cases. One of these days I will get a new one...but it works well enough to get by.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

The Royals had a Saberhagen bobblehead giveaway last night. It's the best looking piece that they've given out so far.

Take the scanner apart and clean the other side of the glass. That should take care of the fog.

    Very nice cards.

Ooooo! I'll have to ebay one and check it out. Funny thing is, I only have one giveaway bobby head right now and the one I have is the Royals Tony Pena, Jr., which I have two of. If you Google it, you will note many call it the worst bobbinghead ever and bottom pits of giveaway bobbing heads....which says something. Of course, Pena Jr. had batted a like .200 with the Royals (without looking)....and wasn't even with the team when they issued it. I guess they made it just make one from a South American...or something like that.

Love it! Nice centering on the auto card too. 86 OPC are very difficult, I am really impressed with that 10. I am working on a Dale Murphy player set and I would love to have 84 quad, drop the auto card and add his nestle card.

Great stuff Mark. Just curious, why is the 1986 your favorite? I always hated that card, I remember getting it in a pack in 1986 and wondering why an AL pitcher was wearing a batting glove under his glove, same with the Guidry card. Now, the 1985 Topps Saberhagen was a big favorite of mine.

Not really sure. I suppose that is the time period that I really started collecting. It is also kind of classic 80s...if only he had some sunglasses with giants lens on his hat.
