OT: NYC trip help from VA

Hi guys, pardon the OT thread but I have a question for anybody that travels to NY.

My issue is that I hate trains and planes. I would like to go up to NYC for a few days, but would prefer to rent a car, and don't want to drive in the city (I lived in NYC for awhile and will never get behind the wheel there, lol. Is there a place I can park the car (or drop it off) outside the city and travel in through bus or taxi? I would be coming up from Virginia.

I know it's an odd request, but if anybody is familiar with how to go about this please respond or PM me.

Thanks,

Patrick

  • Newark Airport, gotta pay for parking but that is an option.

Just noticed the renting car part of your statement, you could turn it in there at one of the rental agents.

even though you hate trains, i would leave the car at the relatively new secaucus junction train station. then you are a mere 15 mins from penn station, nyc

Newark or Jersey City... but that is if you wanna park in parking lots on pay.

If you just wanna leave it in some town, like Iselin or Hawthorne then you gotta take the train into Penn Station.

Newark and Jersey City are urban and you connect via the path 2 bux a person to 33rd st.

    or

Iselin or Hawthorne you could probably leave your car on the street somewhere and train in for 7 bux or so
