I Need to Rant..I'm so Frickin' Pissed !!!

Afternoon,
I really wanted this item...At least close to as described, I am not a neophyte, I understand about buying on Fee-Bay, but this is ludicrous:
Auction: 200472968607
Good Day,
Due to your rediculous Piss Poor packaging the strips have arrived with major damage. I can't believe I spend $142.00 and all you can do is put them loose between two pieces of cardboard. No wrapping, no padding, no nothing, nothing to keep them from moving around in transit. Good going dude, one more piece of History destroyed via Neglegence!!! What a joke!!
Due to this the package was bent in half destroying all 5 complete strips, cards 537, 545, 521, 528, and 504 are all Creased/Torn now. In addition your description of MINT is laughable, End cards on each strip are worn, rounded, creased, bent, and scuffed, MINT...Try VG or so!! Strip 533-540 is water stained on the back, and the two 4-card strips 515 is creased, 516 is torn and creased, other strip of 4, 509 creased/bent & has Holes.
Due to there previous condition and the added damage you caused to happen these are now worth about $50 bucks at best.
Oh and before somebody asks, NO Insurance, No Nothing....I will wait to see what he says, either way will be filing my SNAD before the day is out!!!!!!

Sorry to hear btw.
Seriously Neil - that stinks. I hope you get your money back. I hate sellers like this - can't grade and then have no clue on how to ship.
Good luck.

<< <i>FWIW, mix in the spell check before sending an email. I don't know if everyone is like this, but when I get an email with words like 'ridiculous' and 'negligence' spelled wrong I assume I'm dealing with a crackpot, and I'm much less likely to work with the other party to find a satisfactory resolution to the problem since I assume the other party isn't prepared to act like a grown-up. I'm not saying that's the case with you, but generally speaking it doesn't hurt your cause to put together a well prepared, professsional sounding email when you're looking for a speedy resolution to a problem. >>
Boo,
Thanks for the FWIW, I did spell check this after I copied it for posting to CU, also re-read it and edited a little before sending (Actually Not Much). This one just really pisses me off because I have won 50-60 auctions in the last month, and believe it or not this was one of only two or three I wanted for myself (The rest are for flippin')....And bad...I had even had my high bid at $250.00.
And normally I try to be much more diplomatic, but don't really care in this case as we all know with E-Bay the Buyer is always right system, this is a slam dunk for me. His NOW Trash will be back in his same Piss Poor package and sent back to him tomorrow with DC after filing my SNAD after waiting a few hours to see if he answers me!!
And I meant it when I said this Idiot destroyed a Piece of History!!!! Also, just a further note, this is the same clown who had this Auction end, and the next day E-Mailed and said he wouldn't be able to ship for 5 days because he was going Fishing!!!

<< <i>You come off as a fool sending such a message. Step back, take a deep breath, and briefly tell the seller they were poorly packaged, some were not as advertised, and ask for their address to mail them back to due to the poor packaging and other issues. If you really get this worked up over $142 I would suggest finding something more relaxing to help out with stress. >>
Actually, I don't know anyone who wouldn't get worked up over $142. I think that amount is worth getting worked up about. However, I agree that the "attack" email is rarely useful if you're trying to get a refund. Wait until your cash is returned, then send him a nasty email about what he's destroyed.

I don't know what planet you live on, but $142 is a decent chunk of change to most people. I completely understand the frustration theDutymon feels because of a negligent seller. Nothing is more upsetting then when my cards are damaged because of poor packaging.

Yup.
It tells me that the seller does not give a rat's butt
about me getting what I paid for.
Proper packaging is such an easy "skill" to master
that failing to do so can only be judged as an act
of greed and laziness.
No one can tell anyone how to react and I know it would have been hard for me not to react the same way.

On a serious note, I feel your pain, it is bad when we don't get what we paid for and even more so when it is a rare item that is difficult or near impossible to locate again. Hope everything works out for you and hope the seller learns better ways to ship and protect the items he sells.
PS: always remember to use the heavy duty PWE when shipping 100-10,000 dollar cards.

You must be young and live at home then. $142 to get that worked up, and cause that much stress? I will take the low stress road everytime. Neil has a history of posting on here complaining about his grades or what happened on ebay, do you think getting that worked up everytime is really worth the potential health issues from so many times getting this bent out of shape over? I don't.
And I don't know what planet you live on, but if nothing is more upsetting than when your pieces of cardboard are damaged because of poor packaging, then well you live quite the charmed life. I think death is more upsetting to me, as well as dozens of other things off the top of my head.
I'm so sick of sellers lazy shipping methods. Today I received two packages with some modern rookie lots I've been picking up. One was about 30 cards and the other was an 11 card lot. Both were put into team bags and thrown into bubble mailers. No cover cards, no cardboard, no protection, NOTHING! This has been the norm as I've bought and received 9 lots in the past few weeks and all but 1 were shipped in this manner (one even opened and the cards were all loose in the bubble mailer). And these dolts charge $3.00-$5.00 to ship?
I miss the days when you'd buy a 10-20 card lot and actually have it packaged so that MINT cards would arrive in MINT condition, not all with corner dings...
<< <i>At least he didnt cut up a pepsi carton and ship a $300 card to you in it.
This reminds me of when a guy used a pizza hut box and card sleeve, I'm pretty sure the stain on the back was not from wax.

Are you for real, it was a figure of speech?? I am not interested in getting into a flame war here but I'm not really sure how you can compare death to card collecting. The point was that it is upsetting to get a damaged card because the seller is to lazy to package it properly. I am truly happy for you that you are fortunate enough to waste $142. I really hope that when I grow up I can reach your level of success. However, I am sure the dozens of board members that have lost their jobs over the past year may think otherwise.
Thank you John, and those of you who understand my frustration and disappointment in making a purchase and having crap delivered. Those few of you who don't, well whatever, hopefully you'll understand when I explain to you ,that sticking it where the sun don't shine will be my answer to you, is what is, as well !!!
I have come to an agreement with the Seller, because he has no interest in getting damaged product back that he will not be able to re-sell. I agreed to purchase the lot for $60, and will recieve a refund through Paypal within an hour of our negotiations for the rest.
I only agreed to do this as there are about 1/3 of the cards on the strips that are in NM/MT condition, after all is said and done. I will be taking the strips and with all terrible feelings, will be seperating them very carefully. I have never done this with any strips from this set, hopefully they come apart without to much difficulty.
Wish me luck!!!
Neil

I buy a lot of $1-5 items on ebay looking for items for my Puckett registry and it has become the rule over the last 6 months that cards are being shipped in PWE ..or worse. Today was an all time low....guy folds a 5X7 index card in half, tape the edges, addresses, stamps and sends. When I get stuff like this I just have to laugh. For $2something postage he can't even reuse a bubble mailer, lol. Sometimes I get my whole $3 of fun just by laughing at the morons who package this stuff.
